Between Corn

We have been processing corn all week! We filled our deep freezer right up to the brim and ended up having to put some in another freezer! The good thing is we are set until next July, the bad thing is it might take up till then to recover! Enough about corn, over the last couple of weeks, we have been house sitting for some friends who are now stationed back in Elizabeth City with us. While tending to their lawn, we came across a pair of sand pipers and their nest. The funny thing about these birds is they don't really build a nest, so their eggs are very prone to predators. In order to protect their eggs, they do a little dance. This dance gives the impression that they are injured which makes them more appetizing to the predator...rather than the eggs! Every time we went into the backyard, they would make all sorts of noise and do their injured dance.
